COP a load of our 2022 round-up

After an incredibly challenging few years for the events industry – and the world at large – 2022 has ended up being the most successful year in our 36-year history.

Just over a year ago, we delivered the Green Zone at COP26 in Glasgow. During the free to attend, ticketed, hybrid event at the United Nations Climate Change Conference, we hosted 150 exhibitors and seven unique event spaces running over 12 live event days, paired with a Digital Green Zone experience hosted on Google Arts and Culture.

Building on the success of this remarkable project and a host of others, including accreditation services for the Euro 2020 Fan Zone In London and G7 events, we’ve won 12 new major client contracts as sole event delivery partner this year, alongside securing a number of new projects delivering virtual, in-person and hybrid events for our much-loved existing clients.

Our client roster now includes HS2 – the UK’s flagship transport levelling up project, Youth Sport Trust, and the Police Superintendents’ Association, together with some of our longest standing clients – Network Rail, Police Federation of England and Wales, and Greater London Authority.

To deliver this breadth of new work, we’ve added 16 new staff across all departments, growing by thirty percent and making our amazing team the biggest it’s ever been. And we’re still recruiting! We can’t wait to introduce more people to our talented, hardworking team, to keep up with all the exciting new contracts and projects we have in the pipeline.

We’ve invested an incredible amount into new kit and technology, including the next version of our event platform GEM, to facilitate the delivery of engaging and interactive virtual, hybrid, and in-person events. Reinvented following the shutdown of in-person events during the pandemic, our innovation through this platform saw us listed in the Forbes Solicitors Top 50 Reinvention and Resilience Report.

A core element to our success now is our commitment to sustainability. As we strive to make Glasgows an even greater place to work, we’ve been collaborating with a sustainability consultant to minimise the environmental impact and maximise the social impact of everything we do, to support a sustainable future for our staff, clients, industry, and the planet. We’re focused on delivering sustainable events with all our clients and to the Race to Zero, as well as investing in our social values, supporting local charities, and creating employment opportunities in our local area and at the events we deliver.

Now more than ever before, the health and wellbeing of our team is our top priority. This year, a member of each Glasgows department has undertaken Mental Health First Aid training to help us spot signs in those experiencing poor mental health and be confident to start a conversation and signpost our colleagues to the right support. Somehow, we also found time to renovate our office during this very busy year, so if you’re passing by our Leyland HQ, we’d love for you to pop in for a brew!

And on that note, this is the end of our 2022 round-up, with just one more thing to say – the next 12 months are set to be even more exciting! We can’t share any details right now, it’s all hush hush… but something new is on its way. Stay tuned in 2023!
